July 13th : Camp Muir Mt Rainier National Park - Awesome ! Trop Bien !




Saturday Morning 5 AM departure for REI ( Vieux Campeur Local) in Tacoma for a group hike to Camp Muir at 10000 Feet (3000 m) on the almighty Mt Rainier. Weather is perfect, 3 l of water in the backpack, sunscreen and plenty of food.... Mt Rainier here I come...

3 hours drive from home ( 1 for me 2 for REI bus driver...)
Rated 5/5 difficulty
Rated 5/5 scenery
Distance 10 Miles 16 km
Elevation gain : 4200 Ft Argh and re-argh  1800 m... For the ones familliar with my favorite ski resort in France ( Tignes) it is pretty much village de Tignes to Grand Motte...
Top elevation : 10 000 ft-3000 m
Temperature : 65 F (16 C) at the base and 42 F (5 C) at the Top
Duration 8 hours - they lied on the REI brochure...was not back at the REI store at 6 PM but 8 PM...
Wildlife : Deer, Marmots...
Flowers : Plenty on the few snow free areas
